Suporting Characters

In the book, Freedom Summer written by Deborah Wiles, the story of a friendship between a black and white boy is told. Written in the perspective of the white boy, Joe, his friend John Henry could arguably be a supporting character visa-versa. Joe really wants to know what it would be like to be John Henry, and shows empathy throughout the story for John Henry. Also Joe could be a supporting character, John Henry admires how the simple actions of Joe walking into a grocery store being kicked out, would be such a blessing.
